What I found at Wally World
« on: December 15, 2010, 02:07:00 PM »
Every time I go to Wally World I stop off in the Sporting goods. Looking at what they had in Arrows I came across some Carbon Express Aluminum Hunting arrows 2117's.

I picked one up to see how it would be flinging from My bow. I reflecthed with 4" Pink Feathers 90% sanded down the nock for a better fit on the B-50 string and added a 205grn field point (160 FP & 42 adaptor w/glue) they flow great and hitting right where I was looking.

Has anyone else try these? Mine are full length 30" way better then only getting the 28" carbons they have at the Wally World by My house.

no i have not tried them. i didnt have the money to spend on testing. and i didnt really like the nocks on them. a slip in nock just dont seem like it would work out well with an aluminum shaft. but ive been wrong before. i think im going to get some of the reall cheap walmart arrows and make them into flu flu's. u ever try those and are they any good?

I have a PSE Kingfisher 50#@28" it's about 3/16 past center.

All the other arrows I seen where 28" the CE 2117's are the only ones that are 30"BOP.

I may have to check them out next time I go to town (if the price is right). They were just starting to clearance the archery goods at our store last week. Broadheads were all half off, but they were just starting to mark down arrows about $1 off. I wait until they're almost giving them away and then buy anything I can find a use for. I got a load of the 28" 30-50# thunderstorm carbons the last year, and they shot great out of my 50ish longbows with 200-225 up front. Think I paid $2 each.

If they have what you want/need, you cannot beat the price when on clearance.

There is not a walmart within 25 miles of my home that carries any archery equipment at all.

Any farther than that and its probably not worth it to drive there unless Id be able to buy 12 or more arrows on sale.

I suppose I could call those stores within 50 miles and see if they carry anything archery related.

I stock-up on the CE when on clearance. I agree with Freeman about the Thunderstorm 3050's. They fly great out of my 50-53# bows with 200-225 grain heads.
