Where I hunt it is common to see several dozen while hunting and although for us Aussies we don't think anything of it.
Thought my fellow Trad Ganger's might like to see.

Back about five years ago a fully grown kangaroo was found and captured near Dodgeville Wisconsin.  As far as I know they never did figure out where it came from.

Fascinating creatures!  Thanks for a cool pic!

Nothing ruins a good stalk like a 'roo busting out of the brush right in front of you (and your quarry)!

Thank you Piggy for posting such a cool picture.

I assume, based on the color that it's a gray?

He looks "buff" for sure.

One of the neatest things for me in Oz was seeing the wallabies.  The first several times you can't believe what you are seeing.  I have lots of video of them hopping around.

Not only do they wreck stalks by spooking game, it will about make you crap yourself when you are stalking buffalo in the high grass and one of these outfits takes off like a bulldozer 20 feet away.  Talk about clearing the old arteries for you!

Anyone remember the phrase
"Hoppin' Mc'hamburgers" from years ago?  Supposedly we ate a bit of kangaroo here in the US disgiusied as beef.

Roo is pretty good, rich and lean, much like venison.  It's wonderful on the BBQ.  Only licensed (professional) shooters are allowed to kill them on a cull basis, usually off farms or golf courses where they are a nuisance.  There is no "sport" hunting of them allowed.  Overall, not much of the meat is used for human consumption, most of it goes into pet food.  Many, many of them are hit by cars and most vehicles have 'roo bars on the front to limit the damage.  Seeing one running (hopping?) full tilt through the bush is pretty amazing, they can cover some major ground in a hurry!
