John at Tusker is some hunter, he's really tearing it up down there this year. He got a new Mark Kimber Huntsman 2 pc take down longbow about a week ago, and if I can count correctly this is already the 4th boar he's taken with it. But I think this guy should count for at least two! Apparently in OZ hogs cross breed with Volkswagens.
John shared this from the hunt:
Went to the local Banana farm yesterday, and shot these 2 with that new longbow. I went back out this morning with a block and tackle and winched him up a tree by the scales he went 376 lbs. 1 arrow at 12 yards about 18" penetration, but through to the other side. For those interested in tackle, John's new longbow is 62# at 28", he was using a Predator II 45/60 carbon shaft from Braveheart, tipped with a Tusker Aztec broadhead, total arrow weight 550 grains.
Here's a shot of the brute on the scale:
You may have noticed John said "I shot these TWO", well here's the other one.
Not a bad day!
