Shaft Slinger
« on: December 23, 2010, 03:44:00 PM »
Talked to my brother (Harold Couch) AKA, Shaft Slinger just a few minutes ago. He asked to let everyone on the TG know that he is still alive and kickin! Cancer has taken it's toll and he can't make it the computer to visit TG. We're Working on getting him a laptop with wireless, so he can visit with TG and people he loves the most. He wishes everyone a "Merry Christmas" and "Happy New Year"  My hopes are he will be with this coming New Year. Mery Christmas & Happy New Years from all of us.   :archer2:

Thanks for the update.  Let him know that he is still and always in our thoughts and prayers.  I miss seeing Harold around.

Our Best Wishes for a Very Merry Christmas and a Great 2011!

A merry Christmas back will keep him in my prayers.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Harold and I have both been though cancer problems together. We talked about it on a number of occasions. I was the high bidder on a bow Harold agreed to custom build for the St. Jude auction. He built me a beautiful bow and even made some custom antler burr limb bolts with deer hoof print engravings to really set off the bow. I'm glad to hear he is still around because I had not heard from him in awhile. I am sorry that the cancer has taken such a toll on his body. He was always good in how he dealt with the illness, but like most of us who contract an advanced stage of cancer, he was sometimes scared about what lay ahead of him. I was scared too. Besides, cancer is a terrible group of diseases with awful treatments that can make you want to die just so you can stop the torture. I hate it that Harold is going through this. I pray for him and wish him health and happiness. I am very fond of him. Please give him my best.

Prayers and best wishes for the holidays my friend.

Please pass on our prayers and wishes to him.

I pray Christmas will bring him love, joy and peace but most of all I pray it will give him hope in the one we celebrate.

Merry Christmas and God bless

Harold,

It is great to see your post here!!! It sounds like some tough times for you, which I hate. Whenever I see, hold or shoot that bow you built me, I think of you and give thanks that the part of you that you put into my bow is here with me now. I know what you are going through with everything cancer can do to your body and your frame of mind, and I will continue to pray for you. One thing I also think about is that you donated your skills to build a custom bow for the St. Jude auction so that the kids with cancer could have more money to help with their problems. What a wonderful thing to do for them with a part of your life. You are a great person. God bless you.
