Yep. Black Widow has shipped my new PAX. She is 60”, RH, 52# @ 28”, Asbell Grip, tillered split finger. The limbs are Yew tapers under clear class. No veneers here. The riser is Curly Bubinga and Yew with Curly Bubinga overlays.
“Thank you” to the fine folks at Black Widow bows. I had several conversations with Toby, Roger and John during my visit to Nixa for the Instinctive Shooting Clinic they put on last spring with Fred Asbell and Ken Beck. Then still more questions for Toby and Ken at the Compton Rendezvous about woods combinations and shooting characteristics, differences in bow lengths, etc. I tried as many Black Widow bow models, grips, and lengths and weights as I could at both the shooting clinic and the rendezvous.
I then had the privilege of visiting The Rosewood Shop in Halltown, MO. and spending some time with Michael Pyeatt. Rosewood is a wood supplier for Black Widow Bows and I believe other bowyers and fine wood craftsmen. Together Michael and I selected the woods for my bow, after all if you want a beautiful bow you have to start with beautiful wood. And Rosewood has racks and racks of beautiful woods. I can’t thank Michael enough for helping me through the daunting task of picking just the right woods to build the bow that up to that time only existed in my imagination.
Beautiful wood placed in the hands of bow building experts like the crew at Black Widow is the formula for success.
