Maddog Christmas
« on: December 27, 2010, 06:51:00 PM »

Mike made a beautiful bow for my youngest for Christmas.  Here he is shooting it for the first time right before the snow fell on Christmas Eve.  (We had Christmas Early).  Today he ventured into the snow to shoot his snowman.  He's getting pretty good already and is quite competitive.  I don't think it will be long before I will be struggling to keep up.

Thanks guys

He really surprised me how fast he caught on.  This is his first trad bow and first time shooting fingers.  He went from not being able to keep the arrow on the shelf to popping balloons at 10 yards in about 30 minutes.  I've got a Maddog longbow as well and while we were shooting he looked up at me and smiled and said "I'M YOUR SHOOTING BUDDY NOW!  Nothing better than sharing something you enjoy with your kids.

He just turned 9.  His bow is marked 23# @ 25" and he has a lot of room to grow with it.  I don't think he could shoot one much heavier.

That is great! I recently ordered a Maddog pup longbow for my 6 year old son, Ethan. He is already my shooting buddy but, his 10 pound fiberglas bow has been a major handicap for him. We can hardly wait for the day Ethan's Maddog shows up.

Good luck. I wish you and your son many years of trad shooting fun!
