Shot a big ol doe at KennyM's
« on: December 28, 2010, 03:43:00 PM »
Another Trad Gang member & I went up for a hunt on KennyM's lease last weak.  I shot this nice fat doe late the first night on stand.

We had a fun time and I saw a lot of deer. Some of the bucks I saw will be real nice come next year. The last nights hunt I saw 15 deer 3 were bucks, two 8's and a 6 point. The next day and last morning I saw one of the 8 pointers again. I would have brought him home with me if he would have given me the chance. I'm not real picky about bucks you can't eat that rack and he was a nice legal 8 point, but no luck. We also got a chance to shoot some of Kenny's bows, he builds a heck of a nice shooting bow and is a real nice guy.

It was a cold week down to 10 degrees some mornings and below freezing all week. All in all it was a good trip and I was tickled with my doe!

Thanks and Happy holidays to KennyM.

Good sized doe, congrats.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Nice one for sure. Congratulations
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Hey Tim (Braveheart Archery) I shot this one with one of your 200gr. KME sharp Tusker Concords. I had two holes and the head was good to shoot another!

Weigh it - you still have time to enter her in the biggest doe contest here and win a dozen cedar arrows.  Nice deer for sure

The jacket was a real find! It's a vintage heavy wool Pendleton that's older than me and was like new.
Fast becoming my favorite!
