AMG Feathers
« on: December 28, 2010, 07:16:00 PM »
Anyone care to comment on the quality of or lack of quality of AMG feathers.
I am going to buy a bunch of feathers and notice that AMG is much lower priced than others.
I am not against paying the higher price for the others if the quality is better.

Thanks
John

I use both AMG and Trueflight all the time. Both will glue up and work just fine. The AMG are without question lesser "quality" as far as even, smooth gluing surface's are concerned. The cuts are indentical and they both look dandy on a shaft. The one thing I will say is AMG colors are different than any others. They are unique, the red is blood red in color, very cool.

I have some. Havent used them yet but was very impressed with the look and grind of these feathers. Was a little skeptical because of the price but they look great.

Not as nice as TF but way better that GW.  All I use is AMG based on quality vs price.  I don't like the red and yellow, but their char, and flo colors are nice and bright.

Just bought some 5 inch shield cut AMG's and the quality for the price is really good, but they are not near as good quality as Tru-flights.  All the others opinions are spot-on.

American turkeys. Feathers processed in China and shipped back for sale to the public.

I have fletched a couple of dozen arrows with AMG feathers.I found them to be close to Tru-flight,very consistent in length and quill.I like them and they seem to have good prices.

As far a overall quality;

TruFlight #1
AMG is a very close 2nd
Gateway is a distant 3rd

As far as best value,

AMG        1st
TruFlight  2nd
Gateway    3rd

IMHO
