Vortex + cedar = dead late season doe
« on: December 30, 2010, 01:14:00 PM »
I've hunted with my little black RER Vortex for 6 years now but this is my first kill with a wood arrow. I always seem to get a late season deer with the Vortex but man was I cutting it close this year. Our season goes out Friday. Yesterday evening this doe gave me the right shot. I'd been watching her for a good while now and she was the one I wanted. She was always by her self and if another deer came around she would run it off. Getting an animal with a wood arrow is just awesome. I used a 4-blade Magnus and it did the job. Had to take the pics today since I forgot my camera yesterday.  Oh yeah' I  cleaned my arrow up last night but sorta wish it was still bloody for the pic.

Nice job, better late than never, which describes my season    :knothead: .  Congratulations
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
