Ok, Sunday morning, back on the alfalfa field about 8:00. You don't need to be up at the crack of dawn to hunt javies this time of year. They don't get out of their beds until it warms up.
I set up on the west side of the field near the river, and Kevin sets up on the south side of the field. The wind wasn't the best for me, blowing out of the south-east,so anything that came from the river on my left was not good.
About 9:30, 12 javies came out of a field behind Kevin, but about 60 yards away and 200 yards from me, so we both just sat and watched them. After about 30 minutes I looked to my left, down wind about 30 javies started coming, out of the mesquite trees into the field 50 yards away.
Well I thought I was busted but they didn't smell me and kept feeding, and all of a sudden something scared them and they ran back into the trees and headed my way.Now they were behind me, out of my wind, so I nocked a arrow and got ready.
