I start any bow new to me between 7 and 8 and tune. There is no magic brace height, all bows are different..........

Years ago we use to call it "fismile" Basically a fist with thumb extended. Place on the belly of the bow at the grip, the string should just touch the  end of your thumb. Tune it up or down from there.
Funny thing is every bow new or old that I have shot, it still works.

Earl E.s method will work well and then most of the time I think you will ususally add just a bit and it shoot make it pretty quiet when shot if you are in the groove.
