I have a few different bucks on this camera, but this is the one I like  the best.  He has an  antler growing out the side of his head.

I thought this was a cool series of the largest buck I have seen on this property with the buck with the antler out the side of his head.  This is about a third of the shots in the interaction with these two.  It was great to see it unfold when I first viewed the card.

The old order is passing. Swiftly receding into memory are the days of strong, earnest men who followed an atavistic yearning to pit their skills against wild animals.

I want a pet Elk now. Lol.  I wish I could just release like an 18-wheeler load of them into my woods.

There are a couple hundred of them in the Ozarks, but we can't hunt them. They are transplants and you have to get a lottery license.

That bull is in a tag draw area that I have yet to draw a tag for but I put my cam up there every year just for pictures. Without the tag it is cow or spike only. This year we had a warm spell and a full moon during the archery elk season and day time pictures were few compared to after dark and years past. Midnight seemed to be the most active time. This spot is on public land.

Especially a photo like that one.  I don't know that I've seen a prettier set of "horns".  And the pose...  It's like he knew the camera was there waiting for him.   :D
