Like Father, Like Daughter
« on: January 01, 2011, 04:25:00 PM »
Erin has been shooting off & on since she was 3 1/2 & only the past 2 years has she really sparked the intrest to shoot more.
I've been taking her to 3D shoots especially Traditional Rendezvous around here for 2 years & I'm like a kid in a canady store when I have my little girl with me & she is a troper too where she'll shoot all the 3D targets, Field & then some novelty shoots that her daddy will & be happy that she did.

I'm not pushing her but I'm keeping her in the Bare Bow Recurve like me in hopes that she stays with it & becomes a possible future Olympic hopeful.

Now her accuracy isn't the best but she does alright for the ammount that she does shoot & here recently she has agreed to shoot in the basement at least twice a week with me & maybe a indoor or outdoor tournament as long as it doesn't interfere with her Girl Scout activities.

Well I just received her custom bow from Bill Griffen of Zona Custom Bows & I thought I wouls share some photos with y-all.

My Recurve has some bees wax rubbed on it because I've been taking it out hunting with me & the velcro pad is for my arrow holder but as you can see both bows are very similar to each other, now to get her shooting it.   :bigsmyl:

For the life of me I can't find the pictures of her shooting her green glass Jennings bow.

Looks like you have another one anxious to shoot. Very nice. Enjoy, they grow up too quick.

Yes Katherine my 3 year old loves to shoot her lil Sioux long bow, just a little too excitable at times.
Erin is finally slowing down some & paying attention to her shot sequence more which is a huge plus.

Beautiful bows.  Glad you are enjoying spending time with your daughter.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

He did but with his regular job of being a truck driver he let it laps.

I actually met him a few months back & when I ordered my recurve from him I went through his listing on Archery Talk.

Not sure if I can post a competitive sights link on here though.
