I had to get this done on the 13th, as that date signifies a day one month ago that I wish I could take back, but at least the news this date was "good" news -- no, it was "great" news!

Well I guess I've given it away YAAAAHHHOOOOO!
How true of the above posts. After some investigating, Terry called me this afternoon. When we hung up, I immediately rushed to my computer and turned it on to wait for the e-mail from Terry. The minutes turned into hours, but they were worth the wait. Terry told me that John had been up tracking a doe near to where I had shot at my buck. The ranch hadn't taken as many does this past season so they have permits to take more does out of season to bring the doe to buck ratio in line. Anyway just a short distance from where we had stopped tracking my buck, John stumbled upon a carcass. It was a 7 point and from all indications it had been there about 2 weeks.
I just knew that I had a good hit on that 7 point that morning. I have to say I was upset that our search for the deer ended up with no find that morning. The blood trail looked so promising, and as I rode back to the ranch, I felt another feeling of loss, this one was no where as great and one that I knew I'd relive a few times and then forget. One of the things that brought everyone out of the bunk houses was when the trucks started rolling in after the hunts. Everyone wanted to see if anything was being brought in. Although I didn't get to bring my deer back on the truck that morning and get pictures, I am so happy to know that my buck did fall to our arrow.
I need to say once again the time that I was able to spend with the Trad Gangers at this year's Solana New Year's hunt will forever be remembered. Thanks to all for being there with me and for me!
This is ours bud!
