This old boy Taz brought us to the end of her trail with nothing more than one drop of blood found.

I drop my film off at wall mart and it won’t be back till Saturday afternoon. So you can only have the story right now. I was the first one of our group that was dropped  off  Thursday morning so I had an hour or so before it was light enough to see anything but a few minutes after 7 I saw a lone pig easing into the field.  It look to be a nice size hog, I could only see just a piece of it now and then as it feed along the tree line then it turned and came into my shooting lane. We guesstamated it was 100 to 110 pounds. It was a good one to me. If any of you guys in our group got a picture of it fill free to post it......stabow

Good old Taz. He found a deer for me once too. I hope he finds another one for me one day.

Boyd -- Glad to hear my old roomy got a deer this year! Congratulations.

Wayne -- You did well, buddy! Those deer are the most skittish and quickest moving I have ever seen. You definitely look like a Predator in that camo pattern.

Izzy -- Nice work for a Solana newcomer "Yankee".     :D

Skyler -- Waiting to hear "the rest of the story" with those blood stained chartreuse feathers.

Carlton -- Those of us who have hunted Solana deer know what a challenge it is to hit a target that is not there anymore when the arrow arrives. I know from being with you that you are a good shot, but I'm glad you got some more experience on how to lead your shots on those wily animals. The third time will be a charm next year!

Sounds like everybody had a great time whether they got a deer/hog or not. We need some stories about camp life and the food too. I'm sure everyone had good fortune in those departments.

Where was I ? Oh yeah,,,  there was much more game on this ranch than I had anticipated. It was a bonus to the already awesome atmosphere of most of the hunters getting to know one another and hearing of each others past hunts in different places. The grub at the ranch was super! The steaks that Jim grilled up on an outdoor fire with what I believe was mesquite were out of this world.Sadly no pics to remember them by. The night before that were the best pork chops I can rememer, also grille over coals.

These lovebirds (Caracara Birds) put on an x rated show.I believe I saw the making of little Caracaras. I watched them the first night on stand and just enjoyed the sights and sounds.

As you can imagine a lot of this went on.Hours would pass all too quickly in front of the pavilion while people would try out bows. Heres Ol Shep falling in love with Carltons Kanati that he went on to put to work later that night after buying it.

The country I had seen in the past while being stationed in Ft.Hood but I had never had time to put my feet down on the wilder country until now.A 20 year wait was finally over and I got to explore the land.

I met Jack Guard briefly last May. Didn't remember him as being so gray. What'd y'all DO to him?

Izzy, congrats! Any hunt with you around is bound to be a good one.
