Strange things going on here in Beebe
« on: January 03, 2011, 11:49:00 PM »
CNN is parked a block away interviewing people about the massive blackbird kill that happened above our fair city.

When they asked me if I had noticed anything strange I told them yes.  My feathers were not falling off my arrows but my arrows are dropping like a rock before they travel the 20 yards to my target.

Think it might be related?

My wife said she read on Net where they have some cases of Legionnaires not far from there now. Who knows, but one thing i believe in is the animals can warn us of many things if we pay attention to them. And the way the world is today? who knows what drifting around in our air. This ain't the first case of it happening in the world.

I wonder if there are any cell phone towers near by or powerful relay towers.  I hunted under high tension lines one year, I could sort of feel the electromagnetic energy when the humidity was high.  It seemed then that even the song birds kept their distance.

I saw on the news that you also had a very large fish kill down there as well.

The kill seemed to be limited to Drum.(a bottom feeder)

Black birds and drum...hmm it could have been worse. it could have been turkeys and small mouth or large mouth Bass.

something is going on. national news reported today that over 100,000 dead drum fish covered the shores of the arkansas river in a 20 mi stretch.  thousands of dead birds falling from the skies and now 100,000+ dead fish....seems like an X-Files show.  Keep your bow loaded dude!

Its the coyotes.  :D  Had to say that. I read on the net that the birds was struck by lightning . The fish have a disease. That stuff been happening forever. Like mud said it could be worse bass and turkeys.

I remember reading about a similar thing in a history book. It happened in the 1800s and people were reporting the same things, fish kills, bird falling from the sky, mounds of sand that were not there before. This happened I think from Illinois. south as far as Miss. These events happened before the Heartland earthguake. I think the History channel even did a show on this a few years ago. Who knows?

Lazers might work on birds, they don't work on fish under water  :smileystooges:

The birds were said to have blunt force trauma to their heart and lungs.  I agree that blackbirds don't fly at night.  The drum died about 100 miles west of Beebee, I say they are related, but who knows.

As for what Pavan said about the power lines, they do some weird stuff.  I word at the nuclear plant in Russellville, so I am around some of the extreme voltage lines.  You can actually hold a flourescent lamp tube up on a humid day when you are under those lines and it will try to light up.  Pretty sweet, makes you feel like Luke Skywalker.
