tab vs glove
« on: January 04, 2011, 07:12:00 PM »
been shooting a three finger under glove for two years now but my dad bought me a tab for christmas this year and thought i would try it. first two shots i shot almost two feet high from ten steps. the next twenty shots i got my bearings and was stacking them.it really felt good (surprisingly) who else uses tabs and are there any hints on using one other than the draw back and letter' rip!! ?  graybark

Are you still shooting three fingers under with the tab?  Switching styles may account for the difference on point of impact.  If you are still shooting 3 under, I have never seen that much difference in tab/glove in my experience.  I like gloves from a hunting standpoint, but always felt that I shot better with a tab.  Good luck

When I  USED  to Shoot Wheelie Bows, I shot Fingers with a 3-under Tab, and did relatively well.

I think the tab allows a cleaner release, however I shoot a glove becuase its more comfortable.

the closer you get to bare fingers, the better the string will feel and the better the release.  my tabs are thin, chromed latigo leather.

I've shot both glove and tab. For the last 47 years, I've been shooting a tab; one over, two under.

I switched from a glove to a tab this year and have never shot better! It did take some getting used to.

The first time I shot with a tab it was like someone else was shooting because I've never shot so well. This year I will be using a tab.

I love the Bateman Tabs for split finger, it is just the right amout of protection but still have very little between you & the string.

I trim mine to fit just past my finger grooves, no need in having all that extra leather to floop around on ya.

Like the Bateman tab for three under.

Like the Cavalier for three under

Like the thin Neet calf hair glove for three under.

Might be obvious that I shoot three under.

I'm an old goat, so I don't do nuttin' what don't suite me ..

I shoot both a glove and tab, together. I like a tab that is about 3/32" thick, which is thicker than most retail tabs.

At first I shot 5 tabs stacked because of my arthritic fingers, but my index finger got the old calouse build up...got tired of biting off the calouse.

So, I went to a glove, but the thin leather didn't give my old arthritic joints enough relief.

So, I added a tab to the glove, and now my index finger doesn't get a calouse, and the tab levels out the pressures so my finger joints don't feel so bad.

In extreme cold weather, I find a good cold weather glove and tab works well...or as well as can be expected.

Recently, a club member put me onto the American Leather Big Shot Glove. I tried it and it definitely isn't anything like any glove you've shot. Very stiff, good on the finger joints. It is worth checking out ...

I have shot with a glove all my life and I tried a tab once and I did not like it. It may not have had the right size or I may not have been using it right I could not feel my anchor very well. I will stick with my glove for now if a tab works for you go with it and injoy yourself.   Widow

Switched to three under a year or two ago and shot a glove. I switched to a tab because I like being able to use my fingers. I still shoot three under and use thin tabs.
