Mudd is certainly correct about doing research.
I never trade with someone on the site until I know their handle and have done a search. If I find any dispararging remarks about short, bald, or folks over 50 I'm reluctant to do business with em -- I don't like folks being mean to friends who don't resemble me in the least.
While I registered on Trad Gang several years ago, when I was starting to dabble with the idea of going traditional again, I didn't post much. This spring I got to reading on here again. Then I thought I might like to post a bow on classified and the 100-post rule was invoked. So, I remember, I was out of town. I just started going to every thread that looked the least bit interesting and some where I could provide insight. I put out a couple dozen posts pretty quick and then obtained permission to post a classified.
Funny thing happened. While making all the posts I sort of got hooked visiting with fellow bowhunters. In fact, I didn't post a classified for more than 7-8 months later.
I do know it is easy to get caught up in a thread and forget a rule. For example, on a recent thread (still current) about Bear TD limbs I might have crossed into classified turf without really meaning to do so. A big guy in a plaid shirt came to my front door. He was wearing a beat up ole Fedora. He made me shoot his right-handed longbow. It vibrated the living tar out of my bow arm elbow (but I didn't hear it). Taught me a lesson!
