Quebec Bear Hunt--2 Bears Arrowed on Video--added pg 42!!

Well we are less than 3 weeks away from our all traditional bear hunt.  JC, Bob Walker, Tom Phillips, Curveman, and myself...plus 4 other traditional shooters will be heading to Quebec.  We leave from western Mass on June 22nd for a week of bear fun.  One guy had to drop out so this is short notice...But there is an opening if anyone is interested.  

We do all our own baiting, cooking, skinning, and just have a lot of fun.  Three of the boys just got back today from the first bait trip.  Sixteen baits were put out for nine shooters right now.  We are our own outfitters so everyone is equal.  In the past 17 years we have had 100% on opportunities.  These sites are not ever hunted over by anyone else...not like going to a commercial bear hunting operation.

Last year 2 of 7 bears were taken with the LDB bow.

Countin the days...this'll be my first trip to hunt Canada. Looking forward to seeing more bear in a day than I do all season up here in N.GA.

Nice pics Tippit. Not sure if I could release on a bear that size...that'un has mudflaps on it.

I hear the fishing isn't too bad either  :rolleyes:  

Now, if I can just figure out how to get all that gear up there and back.

I was within FEET of that bear! He came in right by my stand with a mate and kept standing up to scratch his back on closer and closer trees nearby-I thought I might have to scratch his back for him if he came to my tree!             He would have been up past my head as my stand was beneath-my-chin high. I made what I thought was a perfect shot (Chase DVD "diaphragm" shot)             but we won't talk about that...actually we can talk on the long ride up! I am looking forward to meeting you!

I'd have had a certified case of "bear fever" with that one in front of me. He should have a warning beeper on him so he doesn't run over stuff when he's backin up

Maybe some good news here...Mr Ray Hammond & Mr Bowdoc maybe, I repeat maybe goin' in on the 1st Annual Traditional Quebec Bear Quest           We got some ear chewin' and arm twistin' to do for it to happen.  Stay tuned.


This would be way too cool.  Tom & I had talked last year how neat it would be to start something like the TX Sweat in the North.  I gotta go pee...I'm too excited    Doc
