Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

Sure wish I was there. Sleepy hollow is in the back yard of the house I grew up in. We used to ride our horses down there when they were excavating the lake.

So what kind of arsenal are we going to have this year?  What bows is everybody bringing?

I'll probably have a Tall Tines or 2 and a couple Shrews.

Hill Big Five and a Tembo, probably something else too.

Just my Kodiak Hunter for me! Only cause that is the only one I have as of yet. My brother will have my dad's Fedora that he lets us use. Can't wait to see my new arrows. I have never shot a flu-flu before. Is there any difference in flight from a regular arrow? I imagine that there is but I wouldn't think it is that much different. Maybe a touch slower and dropping a lot quicker due to drag but I doubt that that is going to change my hit/miss ratio, lol.

Flu Flus are quite a bit slower but are easier to shoot accuratly at short range because of the big feathers.

I haven't had a chance to check did you find somebody to make you up some Flu Flus Mike?  Let me know if you still need me to look to see what I have.

So, why do we need more than one bow? Do you guys lose your bows AND arrows in the snow?      :dunno:

With all the show we got over night it could happen Mike!!    :scared:

Nope just fun to bring a few extra incase somebody wants to try out a certain bow.  Not everybody has the luxury of making it to Kalamazoo or Comptons to try out different bows.  At least that is why I bring a few extras.

The truth be known there are so many bunnies that you are constantly shooting that you can shoot the flex right out of a set of limbs so you always need a back up.  :bigsmyl:

That's my story and I am sticking to it  :D

I think I will stick with my 64" Longwalker longbow that Chuck made me. It should stick above the drifts if I fall down and mark a spot for the rescue squad to look! I'm looking forward to the bunny hunt. Bunch more snow coming next week though. Hope it isn't too deep for the small children and the old hunters!

Yes Tim, OS is makeing me some flu-flu's. What are the specs on your shrew's? I have been wanting to shoot one for a long time now. Well since I joined TradGang I guess. I am pretty sure my first post ever was something like " Are the Shrew bows worth the wait/money?" And I am pretty sure that would compare to blindfolding your self and hitting a hornets nest with a stick, lol. But I did get alot of info on them that way.  :)

Awesome! This just gets me even more excited! I am still trying to figure out what to bring for a dish or whatever to pass. Any suggestions? Also, I don't have much in the way of extra hunting stuff to put in the raffle. So my question is, would something like hunting dvd's or books be welcome? I have some of both.

Hardway.....donations to the raffle table are not mandatory, but do help the cause... hunting dvds or books are always welcome...... Just surprise us with the dish to pass.....This is a very casual event...so no worries..

Yeah Jacobsladder, I know that donations are not required, but I like the idea of being able to help. Even with it being tight around here I know that it is even tighter for the parents of the children that we are trying to help. So I want to do as much as I can in this reguard. I am trying to learn how to build some bows for my kids right now, and I am thinking that depending on how that goes, I will be making as many as possible. My thoughts are that it will not only help get kids into our awesome sport but it might be another way to help the kids of st.jude's. Anyhow I will think of something to bring. You said that there will be hotdogs there right? Is anyone bringing buns, condiments and that kind of stuff? Thanks Mike.
