Like many of you, I try to find time to spend with kids and their parents to share with them my little knowledge but high level of enthusiasm. It amazes me how kids who have spent much of their lives on computor games gravitate toward archery and anything primitive. I feel that we have a responsibility to spend time with these kids. It just surprises me that it's so much fun.
I go to several "heritage" type events where I do a show and tell and then let the kids and some parents shoot for the first time in their lives. It usually goes over the time allowed in order to get to the end of the line of kids waiting to shoot.
Here are some photos of events here at the shop. I'd like your comments and photos as well.
First photo is show and tell.
Going outside to see the arrow bamboo, osage, and hazel used to make bows and arrows.
Then a little flintknapping demo.
A little showboating, shooting behind the back.
Another group doing show and tell.
Finally, some kids shooting.
Maybe, if they keep practicing they'll be like this band of thieves.
Thanks for the love.
