FANTASTIC! I am sorry for the loss of your friend, but am confident that he was with you all the way through the recovery. Prayers up for you and everyone who's life he was a part of.

Congrats on a fine buck!

Tim,

That is one of the most powerful stories I’ve ever read…it is simply amazing!  If you can get some time I’d write the whole thing up and start submitting it for publication!  Just a special moment in time that will always be with you.

I had a similar experience when my grandfather passed in 2004.  He passed in October so it was hunting season, after the funeral I decided to go hunting and that night I took a decent 8 point with my wheelie bow but it was a very special day.  I remember it was nice to be in the woods and just smell the outdoors and get away from it all.

You mentioned that you were going to get the deer mounted and it will be nice to look at it every chance you get.  I hope it puts a smile on your face when you do!

Sorry for your loss and I hope the deer will remind you of the friend you had and will always be with you when you’re afield.

As we go through life, we have many acquaintances but very few  true friends. It seems that you had a truly wonderful friendship that blessed your life in a special way. His memory will continue to be a blessing to you and all those who loved him. Thank you for sharing this story. We all pray that God will comfort his family and those who knew and respected him during this difficult time. Again, thank you for sharing him with all of us.

Tim,

Our condolences to you on the loss of your friend and to Fred's family.

I, like others here, didn't know Fred personally, but as soon as I saw the photos of him, recognized him immediately from Denton.  How could you miss that man.....I know he towered over me.

Your story about him touched my soul.

Godspeed Fred.

Tim, sorry for your loss Brother. It must have been hard to share this with us but I bet it felt good when it was done.  One of the best stories I have ever read on the Gang. Got me a little teary eyed.  Fred sounds like an awesome friend and man.  My condolences to your family and Freds.  And thanks for sharing with us.  It's not everyone that gets to have a friend like Fred in there lives.

That is just one of the coolest stories I have ever read around here Tim!  What a treasure of a memory you have with that one.  Can't imagine that you will ever take an animal that will have more meaning than that one.

Tim, i know how you feel brother i lost my Grandfather figure aboout 2 months ago. Its hard to let the most dearly loved go. Your buddy must be with Jesus, as he seemed to be with you the whole way. Keep your head up brother, it will get easier i promise. I will pray for you and your family as well as Big Freds. Its important to remember that even when things get rough, GOD is always in control. If you need anyone to talk to shoot me a pm, i dont know you but would be glad to talk to you. God Bless,
Dalton
