A new R/D bow for my shooting buddy
« on: June 07, 2007, 06:44:00 AM »
Hi All,
Here is one new R/D bow I finished this week. I made this bow for my shooting buddy at our archery club. She is 62" long ntn and has a pull of 43# @ 28". The riser is made of cocobolo and bocote split by a mosaic accent. The limbs, both backing and belly, are made of tapered bocote under clear glass. The core is made of tapered Osage (at the backing side) and a parallel strip of hard maple (at the belly side). The tips are made of Micarta G10 with a bocote finish allowing a FF string. She's a smooth and fast shooter without handshock.

My, my, my - what a beauty and I love her curves! Your friend is going to get a lot of jealous glances with her on his arm.

As an addition to this topic a side view of the riser where the mosaic stripe is better visible.
