55 lbs pull / carbon Express Heritage ?

I'll be pulling 55 lbs. on a Recurve at my draw which is 29'.. Which carbon express heritage series  shafts should I get?  Will 150's be to weak???

I would shoot the 250's.
My personal setup is 57lb at 28" and that is what I draw. I've shot broadheads from 125 gr. to 160 gr. and this combination works great with good arrow flight.

I shoot 250's out of my Kwyk Styk drawn to 29" at 56 pounds, total arrow length of 30.5" with 200 grains up front, they fly great.

I have 57lbs at 29.5", FF string, and 150's were too weak for me with 125 grain points.

I would say that with 55#@29" the 250's should work good. I shoot r/d long bows in the 53#@27" range and they shoot good with 150's 28.5" standerd insert and 125gr tip(460gr total weight). They also shoot good with 250's 29" 50gr insert and 175gr tip(570gr total weight). Of course I was trying for a total arrow weight in the 500-530gr range.  Steve

I had problems with the 250's at my 27.5 inch draw length on LB and Curves in the 53 to 55 pound range. I would strongly recommend trying the 150's prior to purchasing the 250's. My bud, Ric O'Shay on TradGand, just purchased some 150 shafts on the St. Jude auction. Give him a couple of weeks and he'll be able to give you his recommendation. I now shoot the Arrow Dynamics Trad Lites and am happy with the results. Good luck.

You can do what I did, Pastor, and order a CX Heritage test kit from 3 Rivers.  It comes with 2 of each shaft (150, 250 and 350) with nocks and inserts.  Costs about 50 bucks.  I figured it was worth it so I don't end up buying 2 dozen shafts with one dozen I can't use and the have to try to re-sell.  I have a bow on order and bought this to test them out when I get it.  I know I won't probably need the 350's, but I figure I can donate them to someone later that needs a couple to test or I can keep them if I ever try to shoot more poundage.

Good to have another "Hill" on the site. CX 250's will work very nicely with your set-up.  The CX 150's will be too weak for you, withotu a doubt. I shoot 50# @ 28" with a 150 Wensel and the CX 150 arrows fly like darts. However, pulling 55#, with an arrow at least 29.5" long (since you have a 29" draw), the 250's will be just right. This is my $.02 and should not be confused with the other $.02 you have and will receive from some other fine archers.

The 150's i had cut down to the shortest I felt comfortable. Still pretty weak... I ended up with the CX250's at 29 7/8"s, with a 20 grain adj weight, and 175 grain field tip, and they fly great bareshafting...

You may want to get one or two of each.. A great Sponsor here, that will take good care of you Sipsey River... He sells individual shafts for tuning purposes... Saved me alot of headaches..

Steve, If your bow is cut to center of past the 250 should be fine. Your best bet would be to leave them full length and use the tip you want.Then cut 1/4 at a time on a couple from the nock end as you bareshaft tune. When you get the right tune then cut and fletch the rest.

If you don't have any way to cut them get the inserts that are threaded to accept weights on the inside of the shaft. That way you can stay at the length you need about 30 in. and add weight to tune.

I shoot the 250's in my 55# Bob Lee with 160grain tips and the normal insert so you should be okay with them.

I've got some 55/57 GT you can try too.

Ya need the 250s and cut them to 30"s and at least 200 grains up front. I hate to argue about wghat people shoot but I have seen what people think is great arrow flight and it is not acceptable to me. I shoot a 55# Kwyk styk at 28"s and draw 28.5"s and I shoot a 29.75" Heritage 250 with 200 grain up front for perfect flight. Shawn
