well spring turkey season is right around the corner. this is my 1st year thunder chicken hunting with my recurve. wondering how many of you are goin turkey hunting to? post your set ups to if can.

I am a novice turkey hunter... Toelke whip 58" 43# epic .600 eclipse 125grn...

I have never shot a turkey with it but have killed some deer with that set-up... I am going to try real hard to get on one this year...

Turkeys are tough with stick and string especially if you don't use a blind (I don't). I only need one dumb one that is blind in one eye and doesn't see too good out of the other...

Love turkey hunting. I've taken 3 in the last two years. I've used bows at 44#,47#,52#. All worked well.

I will be out there come April. I think I am going to try a ghillie suit this year.

Will be shooting a Steward Slammer, 55# @ 28", Easton Legacy 2216's with 125 gr. Stinger 2 blades.

I think I am going to order some Bullheads and give them a try. Curious to see how they fly.

I will be using my pignut hickory flat limb, cedar arrows and Deadhead broadheads and maybe a camo net blind. When i take my wife i may go to a pop up blind and a short recurve. She will only shoot her NAT, which a blind friendly bow.

Feel I have a lethal turkey set-up right now. However, if my Dream TC shows up I plan to develop a new set-up asap. The one item to remain common is using my Big Jim 'Big 3' BH's.

My hardest job now is deciding which calls will get the nod. It is obvious I am no photograper.

Wouldn't miss it for nothing!!

I was out checking trail cams yesterday and these guys think it's already spring.

And yes they are wild turkeys, The little old lady at this place always throws a coffee can of cracked corn out every morning for them.

i got my permit notification 2 days ago. i am SO pumped up for this. i drew april 13-17; prime time, usualy.(depending on the weather) will hopefully be getting a second, over-the-counter permit also when they become available. shooting a 60", 54#@27" gfiffin with cedar arrows topped with a 160 grain snuffer. woo!hoo! good luck to all of you!!

hopefully we will have a normal spring this year it turned real warm last spring and most of the hens were already on clutches of eggs by the time the season started last year, i will be using my Kodiak Magnum this spring been practicing at 20 yards at the shop, maybe a 3 bladed snuffer or a 2 blade zwickey hanen't had time to shoot my BH's yet but i will set up the 3D range early this year at work, i have my eye on a monster with good 1-1/2" spurs or close to that

Killed 4 with wheels. I've returned to exclusively recurve and have eaten a lot of tag-soup the last 3 yrs. They are not easy to bring down with that tiny kill zone, so study your anatomy and good luck!

we have had some spring like weather here in calif. Making it hard to wait for the last Sat.in March seeing lots of turkeys........Prairie Drifter what kind of bow Quiver are you using on your Mad dog? I have a long bow ordered from Mike and am thinking of trying a bow quiver.

I'll be hunting turkey in April for the first time on my own. I shoot a 45# Toth Istvan mongolian horse bow and wooden arrows with Magnus broadheads. I haven't decided yet whether I will use a blind or a ghillie suit or what.

I'm going to keep reading...I'd love to learn more about how to get a gobbler!

I went through a couple before I settled on a Big Jim 5 arrow quiver. Easy on and off,stays put and looks great. Not real expensive. Love it!
