April 17th. New York stump shoot
« on: January 26, 2011, 10:07:00 AM »
Hey guys,

Last year was a great time, and a great bunch of guys that got together for the winter/spring stump shoot off Rt. 29.
It's not too early to start thinking about doing it again.  Who's in?

If I remember correctly, I will want to shoot last, unless you guys dont aim for arrows anymore  :smileystooges:

I'll come out and play if I'm not at Ray's. In May though I will be Turkey Hunting and Striper fishing.

Last year I think we waited for the beginning of April.
Any preferences on when?

April sounds ok. At least you have a chance of finding wayward arrows.

April is a ways off, but it is something to plan for with the snow this deep.
I'll be in touch as the time gets closer.

The place we hit last year worked out pretty good, but I am always up for something new.  Got any place in mind?

There is State Forest Close to where you guys shot last year. Ron pointed it out and said he has stumped there before and people do a lot of horse back riding.

Its not a mountain which could be both good and bad,  and looks like there is good parking. just a thought.

Tim, would you be referring to a bow with initials BJ?

What state land are you referring to?

Charlie,
It sounds like the place we DID go last year.
State land, lots of parking, and lots of horse back riding.  But best of all it has MANY rotten stumps.
