Anyone with input on Hornes Mountain recurve?
«

Has anybody shot these? I have heard they are pretty fast, but maybe a little noisy? How do they compare with other 50's style bows?
I really like the looks of them, but just thought I would get some feedback if I could.
thanks

Haven't shot the Mt bow, but I have had the combo hunter, brush bow, and now flint quest. Mark makes an awesome bow. My experience is that they have been very quiet bows, others shooting mine have said the same. Good luck.

I had a 3 piece Mtn recurve. i bought it used at a bow shop. Turned out I was the 3rd owner. It was my first traditional bow. It shot real good. It was quiet, fast and smooth. All things were good with that bow until....I tripped and accidentally steped on a limb. Called Mark Horne and sent it back to him. Mark made a new set of limbs and sent it back to me in a few weeks.Mark was great and took care of everything. He even offered to send me a bow to use while mine was at his shop in Texas.I messed up mine durig deer season. That being said, when the bow came back with new limbs and new string this bow did not shoot or feel the same. Mark had re-designed his limb design since he originally built my bow and they didn't look right on my bow. So I sold it here on Trad Gang.
I have also shot one of his longbows. That was a one piece and was a good shooter.

Not eh Mtn. but the combo hunter in longbow. Super quiet, fast and shoots great.

I'm looking on the wall right now and have five of Mark's bows hung up next to each other. They are all smooth quiet shooters and he stands behind his work. You will not find a better guy or more knowledgable bowyer. He just flat out makes good stuff.
