Ben's first 3D shoot - Lampasas, TX
« on: January 27, 2011, 10:38:00 AM »
Last Sunday, my grandson and I played hooky from church, and drove down to Lampasas for a 3D shoot. This was Ben's first shoot and I think he enjoyed it. He liked bears...

Bucks with damaged antlers.....

and bedded deer. That's TradGang's own "Bisch" pulling arrows.

That's an 18# Ed Mikuta longbow Ben is shooting. I think he's gonna be a hunter. The red arrows are his (if you couldn't tell).

I too had a great time meeting several TGr's including Matt (Raging Water). It was a little cool early, but warmed up very nicely as the day progressed.

Mudd -

Only yesterday I was changing Ben's diaper. So, just close your eyes, open them and blink a few times. In no time at all, Brindlee Mae will be right there beside you flinging arrows with the best of them. That is, savor the times with her, because it passes too quickly, my friend.

So who took who lol. It looks like you found yourself a bow shooting buddy, good for you and your grandson.

I like the cowboy boots the young fella has on. You don't see kids wearing cowboy nowadays.

Thanks for the pics.

Danny, glad you are starting another generation. I hope you have a great many years sharing the sport together.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Ben Maher -

I did not bring the Belcher with me. That #1 Limited Edition, 300 year old yew bow is too "special" to drag around at a 3D shoot. I shot my Hill Longbowman's Choice.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Ric and his Grandson. The honor was all mine.

What did he shoot? What was the score? I bet my kid came in second.

What a great experience, I can remember my first few 3D shoots as a kid and how excited I was.  Been hooked ever since:)
