Question about SBD bowstrings
« on: January 28, 2011, 03:04:00 PM »
I'm new to this site and to the trad scene. I got a question about bowstrings. I have a Ben Pearson recurve and I really like the SBD bowstrings. I was told that I couldn't use fastflight strings on my recurve. SBD uses fastflight. Is there any truth to this? If so, can yall recommend a custom string maker that could make me one (preferrable a sponser on this site)? Thanks!

You'll need a Dacron string like a B-50

Josh will fix you up.

There are a few stringmakers in the sponsors classified section that can help you.

Josh Sowerby is his name, he is listed under the classifieds by his handle Oliverstacey.  He is a a top notch stringmaker and a great fella to deal with.  He mailed out a string today for me.  I've bought probably 13 or 14  strings from him in the last year, all perfect.  I know he makes Dacron (B-50) strings, because he made a few for an older Bear and Shakespeare of mine.
It may take a day or two for a response from him, lucky dog is at K-Zoo this weekend!
