Sounds like Kalamazoo is hopping!!
« on: January 28, 2011, 06:32:00 PM »
My buddy Rick of "The Feathered Shaft" sponsor here sent me a text message on a deal he said I should not pass up and it sounded really loud in the background so one of the best shows around is going strong already. Wish I could have went this year too  :(  . For all of you that go take some pictures for us. Flint

One of the busier Friday nights I have seen at Kalamazoo.  Picked up a new Shrew Classic Hunter.  No camara here to post a pic but she is beautiful!  56" 54# @ 28" Take down.  Crazy Bubinga veneer, carbon, foam cores, mystery ???.  Gregg has done it again on this one.  I'm a very blessed and happy camper.

I was busy this year for sure.  Looks like the word has gotten out about Friday night being easier to shoot bows and get around the place.  :banghead:    I shot your bow before 5:00.  If it was 5# less it would be mine.  :D  Very sharp and the joint line in the grip is so fine I didn't even see it until I asked Gregg about it. I shot the ghost also a couple times.  Too plain for me.  All the 56" RH CH's are gone now.

I have a buddy there--he said the line to shoot a bow was 10 minutes wait on both ranges, very unusual for Friday night.  Maybe everybody had the same idea--go Friday night if you want to try bows.  He said it was really great.

Pulling into the Fairgrounds @ 4:40pm.

Steve "Jacobsladder" one of the powerhouse's behind the St Judes Michigan Bunnie Stomp, Mitch "Gator" and Steve's son Jacob.

Steve O and Young O, what a great pair.

Did you say Widow? They had em!

Did you say Predator? They had em!

Bows, Bows and more Bows

I managed to make it out with my wallet somewhat intact. Shot a Brian Wessel Tall Tines longbow that was way too sweet. The more I think about it I'll probably loose that battle and have to give him a call. What a great way to beat the winter blues, seeing old friends and making new ones.

Last year was my first year at the Expo and I vowed that I would never go on a Saturday again due to the traffic.

There were A LOT more people tonight than I expected but it was a great experience. People at the ranges were very considerate this year. I was actually able to shoot several bows, including one of Chad Holm's 62" Osprey longbows which TOTALLY floored me. AMAZING. I WILL own one of those in the future.

Picked up a dozen Ash shafts and a dozen Fir shafts from Allegheny - great guys, great coversation, great prices!

Picked up a nice olive-drab wool sweater for $8.00.

All and all, it couldn't have been a better way to start the weekend!!!!

It was busy!  By far the most I've seen on a Friday.

I got to see a lot of people and meet a few new ones...can't wait to get back in the morning.

It's snowing hard just north of Grand Rapids, be safe driving!

Oh I almost forgot...I picked up a small spool of D-97, I'd call the color "Rust".  Going to make some great looking strings with this color...my Cocobolo Kota is getting a new string when I get back!

I just love odd ball colors!
