Went today on snowshoes in the Adirondacks, great time!

It's great, isn't it?  Even when I go to the range, I keep a bunch of empty soda bottles in the bed of my truck and, if no one else is around, I will put them out all over and just shoot at them from unmeasured distances.

They're not stumps, but it's the same effect.

In the summer I can spend a whole day stumping.

Me and my son went out yesterday. Took the dog and the bow for a walk. Shot a few stumps and looked for squirrels (no luck with squirrels) but did kill some stumps! Had fun and that's the most important part! Jason

Did a little stump shooting in the 'glades yesterday with a buddy. We only lost one arrow, and one broadhead we couldn't dig out of a tree.
Also found the remnants of an old pickup truck
with the gas fill/cap on the hood?We also found some fresh panther tracks.

If you think you shoot alright across the lawn. After trying it you may feel a little different about how good you are.

Lots of yucca here in NM...those pods make outstanding targets! Those red prickly pear fruit make good targets, too. But ya hafta be careful getting your arrow if there's a big patch of the spiny devils!

My favorite - as if you couldn't tell from my camp name.

You don't have to drag out or clean stumps!

Good to see so many folks approve. Stumpin ain't just fun, it's the best hunt practice IMO! Was in the woods all day myself killin clods & other suitable expendibles w/a Reparrow Rick made me. Nailed an oak limb hidden behind a nice pile of dried leaves. Wups! Thought the arrow bought the farm. Not a scratch.

Stump shootin can sure teach you some things. I was out stumpin in the sagebrush/pinyon/juniper hills behind the house this last week. A Pinyon pine is OK to shoot if you have a nice, fat trunk to aim for.

I had carbon arrows with me and decided to see about putting one through the multiple branches of a big Pinyon to hit the large trunk of a second tree on the other side.  Nope! Not sure what happened but the carbon arrow was busted off slick as if it was cut right below the fletching.
Lesson learned--be really careful around those Pinyons. They are one tough, mean tree!
