That's a pretty cool history, being a civil war veteren's camp.  Where is the camp?  Looks like a nice area.

I love massive trees like that.I always wonder who's been underneath them and to see what the tree has seen in it's time on the earth.Neat stuff.

The camp is located on the edge of the Siamese Ponds Wilderness in Hamilton Co. Jeb Hayes actually farmed the land and tried to make a living on that patch of rock. The old timers said you had to boil a chicken a week to even eat them.....lol!

Nice area, but not for farming.  I hunt about 15 miles north and west of Northville.  In southern Hamilton County.

Ken, that picture of me digging,

was that me demonstrating how to build a shelter or was that the time I was showing you how deer find acorns in the winter   :readit:        :biglaugh:

I had a great time guys. Thanks Ron for taking us a long.

Izzy,  The bow was as expected. Dreamy!  I have yet to shoot a big River I do not like.  I have nicknamed the Bow "Raven".  It fits if you see it.

The picture of me digging is the first shot with a heavy tipped arrow.  It zipped about 1.5 feet high over the stump.

They were what I was given to use, not intentional.

Thanks for taking the pics Ken, they came out great.
