Yea, why would a guy with that much woods savy walk back in on a gut pile in Grizzly country without his 44 mag?

I asked Monte that very question and he looked at me and smiled and said...  I just never thought about it till it was too late.

Its a great story

Get the Compton Record book. It has Monty's story as well as others. It is an awesome book, organization, and fine group of folks to boot.

You could probably get that back issue of TBM. I would give Robin a call! I've ordered several back issues, worth a try! Jason

If you guys identify the past issue of TBM could you please post it. I have never read the story but you have sure got my interest now. That would definitely be a life altering experience. Thanks to you for any forthcoming information.

What a cool story Monty B. and the Grizzly.I was lucky enough to recieve one of the arrows in Monty's quiver from that Grizzly hunt.Solid fiberglass fish arrow crested with broadhead
intact !
I believe Monty is working on a book ??

The way he wrote the story was trully an awesome piece of literature, but it dosen't even compare to him telling the story to all of us sitting on the edge of our seats at the Kalamazoo Expo a few years back.  It brought chills to my neck, and still does thinking about it.  He is one hell of a great story teller.

It is a great story, the kind that stick in your mind and a lesson learned to remember.
An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

I believe that access to every article printed by TBM, from the first issue through the current one, is available with their online subscription.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.
