Wood Arrow Help

I bought a dozen of Port Offord Ceders form threerivers and they are awefull. They are not at all straight. I know they will not be very straight out of the box but they are bad I mean bad. I broke one tryin to straightin it. I barely bent it with the soft part of my hand and it snapped like a twig. I will never buy another shaft from threerivers. Where can I buy good arrows for a good price and what material is the straightest out of the box. I think the arrows are pine I dont even think they are ceder.  :mad:

Surewood douglas fir. I get mine from Braveheart. Great shafts.

I would suggest you contact 3Rivers and give them a chance to make it 'right', whatever that means to you.

3Rivers does sell Port Orford Cedar and Sitka Spruce arrows.

I have had pretty good luck with their products and solving problems. a lost order in my case.

First I would contact 3R they will stand behind what they sell as long as the damage was on their part. Second Surewoods(braveheart sells them) are straight and priced well.You can also get with Fletcher if you want some really nice arrows.And check the "How To" section for tips and tricks on straightening arrows.

I've always had good luck with Kustom King's tapered poc.  A bit pricey but very straight.  Let them know what grain weight your looking for.  I also suggest would let 3 rivers know.

# rivers will stand behind their products. If they made the mistake they will eat the shipping too. 3 rivers has been top notch in my experience.

They have always been top notch for me too but this makes the secod dozen shafts that have been bad in my opinion. I dont like to gripe about things but these are bad. I buy most of my stuff from them but I think I will buy shafts some where else. I have never had a problem with anything other than the arrows.

What part of the state are you located? If I'm close, I'd be happy to give you a hand. Maybe try a few different types of shafts? I probably have at least 3 different shaft materials.

I would second and third Surewood Shafts. Either directly from Surewood or from Braveheart(Tim is great to deal with).

Give 3R a chance and then switch to Surewood (Douglas Fir). Straightest, out of the box I've ever seen. I did a build along here a few weeks ago, and didn't have to straighten one shaft. I'm shooting them now and still straight as can be!   :thumbsup:

I personally use both my hand, for slight corrections and a ACE roller for nasty bends. I prefer to use my hand.

If you get a chance try the Surewood shafts(Douglas Fir). They're normally very straight.

KyBowhunter, since using Douglas Fir, I don't have to straighten any. When using cedar, I used the Ace roller and my hands like Joe.   :thumbsup:
