boy, hes gonna be suprised
« on: February 04, 2011, 11:07:00 AM »
So my dads been struggling with arthritis in his string hand for a couple years. To many years abusing them to earn a living. He has a 60lb. robertson longbow thats all bacote. He really loves it but just cant handle the pain in his hand anymore. Every time he shoots my widow which at his draw is about 50lb he says man i really like that but your mother will kill me if i get another bow. So last week mom calls me and asks if i know what kinda bow he wants. I tell her yeah thats easy and she tells me to order him one and keep it a secret its gonna be his valentines day present. So i called the widow works yesterday and in 8 weeks he will be the proud (and very suprised) owner of a 60in pchx 52lb at 29in asbell grip, tillered split with a dark bacote riser and light bacote limbs. My old man gets everything he wants lol. He earned it.

Great gift!
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

USN, I cut the picture of the pch out my catalog and glued pics of the woods next to the bow. Then i wrote the specs ordered on the page. Shes gonna put that in a card for valantines day. Huntschool, ill be 34 in may and even though we were pretty poor when i was little i can never remember not having a bow so its the least i could do he gave me my lifes passion. Mom graduated from nursing school the year i graduated from high school. After that there lives got much easier. Thats why i always tease him about gettn everything he wants. Mom just pics up another shift lol.

The dual graduation is cool.  I have had some of my students (3) have one of their parents be in the same graduation exercises here.  We all really hooped it up for them.  In fact we got it fixed so one guy and his Mom could walk to get their degrees together.  That brought the house down.

Enjoy the time with your Dad.  I am pretty sure there will be some moist eyes when he gets that card...

Excellent treatment of your Dad!

Last year in March my son turned 31. He came in and I told him to check out my new bow box. He thought the Predator Custom Classic (tulipwood veneers) was pretty cool...and then he noticed it was right-handed --I'm a lefty!

(I did tell him not to get used to such elaborate b-day gifts though!)

Your family is SO blessed!
Congrats on being the "perfect" son, in such a loving family.
