Lone Wolf Bows..,Need Your Input
« on: February 05, 2011, 05:38:00 PM »
For all you that have a experience with lone wolf bows, please let me know what you think of them. If you can, post pics. Is it worth the long wait?  I have a good friend that has been waiting well over a yaer now and seems like all the others I know that have had one built have had to apply some heat to get their bow. I have wanted to get one but I am not sure I could handle having the build proecess dragged out but I also never seem to see them up for sale.

If your talking about the bows made by John Maus out of Glennie, Michigan, I would say yes they are worth the wait for sure. Check the classified listings if you like. John's bows are seldom sold once received. I have a 60", 53@28 "Desert Storm" long bow on my rack. Shoots and looks great. No its not for sale. Took me three years to find this one in the classifieds, after I sold another just like it to a friend.

Great bows for sure, I hold my Longbow's in the highest regard. I am not sure which would take longer--Waiting for a used one to come up for sale or the wait time for a new one.

I have an Autumn Storm longbow John made. Absolutely beautiful and a great shooter. You never see any of John's bow for sale for a reason.

Several years ago, I was interested in some of his GT test shafts (with weight adapters installed).  He sent a test shaft set to me, and since I was also interested in his bows, he sent me his son's bow 45@28" to play with. Very stable, well built bow (attention to detail) quiet, too.  I bought the test kit, ordered some fletched arrows and wt.adapters, and returned the bow. I didn't order a bow since I wasn't sure what type of custom bow I wanted.  In short -I wish I'd ordered one like it anyway. And John was very helpfull in the tuning/testing.

Great bows.  You can't go wrong with a LoneWolf.
