For that money, either a lost Creek, or the new Zipper Hunter model. Already got a lost creek, so....

I think you broke the $600 bank with either the Lynx or a Widow.

The only new bow I've bought in the last 20 years was my Martin (Howatt) Dream Catcher and she is a smooth and quiet hunting tool.  Worth a look and only a bit over your $600 cap.

I think they changed the riser woods in the last few years.

I wouldn't wait or buy a new bow if I had not shot and loved first.

Isn't there another trad expo in the mid west planned this year?  How about a big shoot?  That is the best way to go so you can shoot a pile of stuff.

One consideration would be to call Brian Wessel at Tall Tines. Rumor has it that he is coming out in the very near future with a hunter-type model that may be well within your price range. This bow is to have maintained the Tall TInes shooting characteristics but w/o all the bells and whistles.

The EAgleWing onepices longbow with actionboo cores is a top performance bow in all aspects and is 550. base. That is pretty hard to beat. It is built exactly the same as the ones I build that run over a thousand. Absolutely no difference in shootability or quality of workmanship.

God Bless you , Steve

I picked up a used Crow Creek and a Firefly both well under 600.00. Both are fine bows.

For that kind of money.....Holm-Made Osprey or River Runner........My Osprey got glued up this weekend, should have it in a few weeks!! I'm excited!!!!!It will be a good match to my River Runner which was my go to bow this past season! The bid difference is my Osprey is going to be real pretty!

I agree with Night Wing, it would be EXTREMELY hard to beat Wes' craftsmanship and fit. It is a bit out of your price range, but his bows are top of the line.

Morrison ILF. I'd go with a simple phenolic riser & Black Maxx carbon/wood limbs. It'll set you back under $500 & you can upgrade or change limbs as and when funds allow.

You get a super fast, ultra smooth, infinately adjustable awesome hunting bow made by the best in the business, admittedly no frills, but if you want a shooter more than a looker, look no further.

I would buy a Morrison or Tradtech Tian ILf 17" riser, and Black Max long recurve carbon limbs, that way if I wanted a different length/type of limb, there are a vast array fo different manufacturers of ILF limbs that would fit. The riser would be bombproof, has adjustability of tiller, about #5 of weight adustment and a plunger button for more adjustability of spine, arrow deflection. I bought a slightlly used Titan with rest and plunger button, for $275 and a new set of Black Max limbs, for $220 for $495 total. The bow shoots great, quiet and if I ever get where I can shoot better than this set up does, I will be shooting as a professional for a living. It just makes good sense to me, and makes me consider selling most of my other bows now.

I would take a serious look at Holm Made recurves or the Osprey longbow. They have been mentioned a few times here.

Also Maddog has a sleek 50s style 60 inch recurve with static tips for 375$.

They look nice and nostoligic. The price point is exceptional.

You might try and hit the Cloverdale shoot in central IN. this June and test out a bunch of bows if you have not bought one by then.
