i am planning on having the 2nd annual Adirondack Attack the first weekend of October for early archery season. i have the whole week off so you can stay for the weekend or all week. i will be staying at my mothers near where i hunt and there is room for many to stay. i was thinking about a semi work shop if there is enough response and interest. possibly someone to teach bow building, flint knapping, and things of that nature. very open to suggestions. had a blast last year and learned a few things to do different. i will be scouting earlier and exploring more land to space out the stands far enough apart where everyone can enjoy a little alone time. hope to have a small 3d course. would love to have the same crew as last year as well as any new people that would like a chance to roam the mountains with us. all you need is a NY license, i will provide the rest.
the only problem is i might be biting off more than i can chew by trying to have a workshop and hunt both Saterday and Sunday. if people were staying for more than the weekend it could possible. what do ya think? this is just the very begining to see where we stand for this hunt. any input and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ken , Sounds great , I think some mid day workshop could be done . I wish I knew enough about bow building to help with it , but not having built one that didn't break I can't offer much. I will try very hard to make it as I am leaving for Montana the next week on thursday so I will have lots to do. I had a great time last year and anyone who is interested you will have a great time with some great people:0) Thanks again Drew

You know I am up for it. Not very handy though. Anything i can do to help Ken, let me know. Might be able to "borrow" a couple 3d targets from my father too.

Been seriously thinking on making the trip and would love to visit the historical sites of your town...would be cool to meet the others  :)

Ken,

I'll be coming home from a bowhunt in Northern Ontario for moose that weekend, but it sounds like it will be a blast.

Now that sounds like a blast. Might have to make it next year for sure, as my wife will be having our son right around then! Either way have fun, and stay safe.....and no snow dancing Chuck! You do so well no one else needs to bother! LOL.

i will keep everyone posted as things get closer and i get more info of how long people can stay to see if a workshop will be able to happen. my mothers house will basicly be our camp and her addy is
141 church rd
johnstown ny 12095
you can use that addy to map quest and get an idea of how long your trip will be. i would also like to get maybe one early aftrennon of flyfishing in as well. there are couple nice trout streams here.  turkey, bear, deer and small game will be open at this time.

I moved back to Mass. a few years ago for school but I still hunt the hudson valley at least 7 or 8 weekends per season.   If you don't mind a trad newbie I'd be real interested.  Let me know what you need and I'll see what I can do.

Take care,
Nathan

COOL, sounds like a certain peace pipe should be brought from Iowa for the campfire.

Someone better hogtie Chuck, before he starts that snow dance of his   :knothead:   You all know what happened last time, we were eye deep in snow at the bunny hunt.
