Chuck i have to hand it to you, we did have the best of luck. Boy we sure would need a lot of snow to bog those deer down   :bigsmyl:

It is now but here is some of Chucks handy work.

It's a five hour trip from here but if things go right for me i think i could make it. It would be fun to get together with some of the folks from Trad Gang.

How is hunting down there? I live up in Schroon Lake but bought a small camp in Broadalbin. My boy stays there he is going to Fulton Montgomery. I hope to try a little bowhunting down that way this fall.

You guys are killing me....LOL. I guess a new boy is a good enough reason to miss this.....this time. So this is an annual thing right?  :saywhat:
Hey Chuck....might have been a lot of snow...but there were 16 less bunnies than when we began. Dance away man....and I may need some pointers on rain dancing....so I can get some time off of work.LOL. I need to go fishing already.

Dean,
Broadalbin is only about 30 minutes away from where we will be hunting. it is manly public land bordered by some posted land which i have permission to hunt. if you can come up to hunt bring a gps and i'll show you some great spots to put stands so you can come up and hunt by yourself throughout the year, i don't mind sharing its a big mountain with many ridges. it does not get hunted AT ALL during archery season. gets some pressure during muzzleloader and then POUNDED during rifle season. when rifle opens i move to another area. i have a good 4 or 5 spots that are public land i can hook you up with which would only be a 20-30 minute drive from your camp. the mountain we hunt is full of oaks and beeches. there are a few swamps waaaaay on top.

Best part about the hunt is that you will probably never meet a finer host than Ken.

    :campfire:  Last year was one of the finest weekends hunting in a long time.

Ken maybe the waitress from the Italian place we ate at in Johnstown could do a seminar on "catching" deer.  ;)

Jamie,
There will be plenty of time to hunt, but  not a lot of time that your son will be a baby. before you know it he will be telling you how to hunt   :bigsmyl:  Enjoy those kids while there little.

Ken
Ill have to try and make it. If you guys run short on space I can set my camper up at the camp and someone can stay there. Do your area fall in the northern or southern tier? If you come up north I can find a ridge for you to sit also. Not as many deer but sometimes you see a big one.

Dean,
as Chuck said Route 29 is the north/south border. i rarely hunted south untill i moved to Fona last year where i have permission to hunt a small piece of land by my house. i am a northern, big woods hunter through and through.  the area i hunt holds a good population of deer although ya don't see them every time as you know. there are some real slammers here as i took a B&C buck ( 171 1/8 ) in 1985. also took a HUGE 8 point 3 years ago. you don't see as many as hunting south but i love the mountains and the chance of seeing a real slammer and a good supply of bear. just something about hunting those ridges and listing to the coyotes and turkeys, brings me back to a time long ago. i am not in it for the kill although i love venison, these mountains and strems run through my blood, without them i would be lost.

I'll be there. This will be the last two weeks of hunting big game before Ru can buy a big game licence. He turned fourteen in Feb and he's chomping at the bit. It will be all over when he's on the lose.
