David purchased an older recurve from me in order to get a friend of his started in traditional archery.

Way to go David!!

Thank you for the photos.

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Mudd,

In the second photo, Jen was pointing to where she wanted to hit, but... I think she did very well in grouping.

As for me, I try to buy light weight bows wherever I can, and give 'em to the boy scouts, and local neighborhood kids looking for a way to get into archery.  I'm very lucky to have some property, and my own range for others to practice on.
Mudd, your bow was going into “the giveaway bow pool”, but this lady and I just started to talk about archery and well… your bow just needed a novice shooter.           :)            Now, I just have to convince her hubby to start shooting, and then go to local tourneys.  And then… BBTC, STAR, ATAR, Denton Hill and on, and on and on.

Allen, I'm hoping to make it to Dixie's next shoot.

Kath... while we were on the range, I was telling Jennifer about YOU today.  And yes, you are both good people.

Bill... your name was brought up on the range today too!   I was telling Jen about your website video (of Tracy taking her bear), and the shakiness in her voice after the shot!  Be it a male, or female hunter - it makes no difference - we all know the heart pounding, wobbly legs, "falling out of the stand" feeling.

Regards all!

Great stuff guys . About the most important thing you can do in archery is get bows into the hands of newbies .

David has some good mojo going for him and it all comes around. I got to make it down your way one weekend David and check out your place. Looks like a nice spread.

Too bad I had to move away from you guys, otherwise I'd school you in that Dixie shoot!  Ha!

Dave, Allen and the old VA crew, I make custom wood arrows now.  I've got a couple build-alongs posted here if you want to check them out.  Let me know if you want me to make you a set.

Dave, I'll trade you a dozen arrows for all of your targets in the woods!

Take it easy.

Phil... glad you had a good time shootin the lil piglets.  Did David & Nancy go also?

A.S.  Allen, did you find that one critter?

Jerry, it's my small retirement home on 6 acres, but it's my little piece of heaven.

Allen, good to see you're still alive!  I wasn't sure what married life would do to you.  Looking at you advatar photo... it looks like you shot a black dog!   Did ya?
Wood arrows?!?!?  Bravo!  That does take patience, and skill.  I'll go looking for the build alongs.  Concerning the targets... there are still around 28 Reinharts and Mckenzie's in the back woods, so... how expensive are your arrows?        :scared:

Regards to all!

David,

David and Nancy did not go. It was me and Nancy and 3 of my hunting buds from NC. Between the five of us we got 3 hogs and 5 javelina (I'm not saying how many we missed). We were hunting on the Cadena, near Benavides, TX. It is 9000 acres, low fenced, loaded with pigs and javvies.
Keep em Sharp!
