« on: February 16, 2011, 06:00:00 PM »
I need help. What would be a all around camo for treestand and ground pounding, the Shadow plaid or Montana Magic. Or should i just get both. Any experiences with either would be great. Thanks for any help.

Shadowplaid is excellent as an all around camo. Teresa Asbell offers it in her line of wool garments.

I picked up a pullover in Montana Magic at Kalamazoo.  Wore it on a rabbit hunt the following week and had two different people comment on how invisible I was.  I love that pattern!  (But then, I tend to love them all)

They are on the Asbell site.  I was looking at the Evening Stand Brown myself.  Looks like a nice breakup with neutral colors.  Shadow plaid looks like it would be good in a treestand with the high contrast.

I beg to differ on that! Orion had the power to walk on water.  If super powers worked for him I'll use mine every chance I get!

Depends on your environment and methods.  I went with Shadow Plaid.

If you scroll through his color choices you will find both.  I assume this is what is being refered to.

IMO. when it comes to wool, plaid or solid, it does not matter. Materials like woll or flannel absorb light just like the animals fur do. thats why it can be so hard for us to see them. until we or they move. Pick which lyou like best.
I wish Ron still made his blaze orange wool hood.

Thanks Charlie. Pics always help. Anyone have pics of the Montana magic in the field? Swatches on the site just doesn't do it for me.

Montana Magic.  It works kind of like a ghost.  You can only see the guy when you take a picture. In real life I'm invisible  ;)
