I have one wheel bow left, I was going to sell it but my nephew has been begging me for it for a year now. He just left for ARMY Boot camp. I think when he gets back i'll give it to him. It's a Mathews Monster, he loves that bow.

Hi, my name is Josh and I'm a tradaholic...

Seriously though I haven't been able to save up enough to switch back to a good ol' stickbow (who knows why I wanted wheels  :goldtooth:

Yep I decided to go all trad after an elk hunt with my buddys in Idaho.  On the drive back I sold my brand new bow to one of the guys for half price and never picked one up again.

Now look what I'm doing.  LOL

After starting with a longbow in the '60's and shooting a recurve until compounds came along, I tried the compound for a decade, until a house fire wiped the slate clean. I bought a longbow from Dan Quillian in '88 after the fire, and haven't owned a compound since.

I still love the compounds and probably always will. I've been shooting them for so long and loved it. I feel the same with the traditional equip. and am going to atay with it forgood. To me it dosen't really matter what a person shoots, as long as he or she has fun doing it.

Trad shooting is a journey, not a destination. It's what makes it special.

My Zona is the smoothest drawing & shooting bow I've ever owned & for the weight is very deceiving because it feels lighter than it really is.
I also am waiting on my personal second from Bill but was very happy to get Erin's around Christmas time.

I'd just mailed mine off !A compound that was sitting in my closet ,It took me two years to sell that thing ,

I went back and forth with compound (And I don't know why ) To traditional, I have a shoulder injury, Thought it was rotator cuff ,But the Dr. Diagnosed it as arthritis ,He said that's good because it's more workable .

I had Chad Holm make me a really low poundage 36# And that has helped out my shoulder quite a bit . But as I boxed up my compound today to sell it, You look at all this stuff on it ,And you just can't imagine any more once you pick up the traditional bow and hit your mark. It just doesn't get any simpler .

And a specially as you get older ,Your eyes get bad .You need bifocals ,And you're trying to line up a circle with a stick and a dot.

That's what one compound'er at the range said to me  "I liked the way you just put the arrow on the bow draw and shoot "

And then he said  " But what are you aiming with "

My answer

"My brain Tells my arm where to put the arrow"

His reaction

"I Gotta get me one of those "

It's not about hitting the mark ,It's how hard the market you "

Traditional is great

We don't have the monster bucks where I live, too many 10 - 20 acre woods that get pounded by the gun hunters and wipe everything out each year. Our doe population is crazy though.
I too have found it more satisfying taking a doe with the longbow than a small or average buck with a wheelie bow.
