You mean they still make fletching glue   :knothead:  ?
I have been using fletch tape for the past 10 years, and can't believe that anyone still uses glue.
To help with your question Bone, I have hunted in 100+ temps in Texas and southern Arkansas without any difficulty.  I have also used fletch tape in Africa without a single bad occurance.  This said, if you store your arrows tightly for travel (like in an arrow tube)  your fletching may change angle a bit.  By this I mean that the feather actually tilts a little, though I don't think I have had one actually move on the shaft.  You can fix this by reapplying some pressure, but I've never had it affect flight much.  It just makes them look a little funny.
Go tape, you will never go back.

Ed,
Get this stuff and they will be calling YOU the ARROW DOCTOR  :) .
The other great thing is that you can replace a damaged fletch in the field without any tools.  Just apply the tape and line up your fletch and push it down.  So simple even a caveman could do it....sorry Geico.

Not only is it the toughest of fletch adhesives, but it works on everything. Woods, carbons, aluminums, and just about every finish, sealer, paint, and lacquer we bowhunters use...

Hey guys, has anyone had any experience with fletching tape and feather burners. I just started to use the tape and I love it. I've even been able to carefully peel it off of dipped and crested shafts and refletched without re-painting. Tough to do that with glue. I have some wild turkey feathers I ground at full length that I want to burn to shape and don't want to waste material if the tape won't take it. Thanks.                      Grant

Grant,
I have set up home done turkey feathers without any problems.  I use a chopper instead of a burner, but it shouldn't make any difference on the quill side of the feather.

I've not used it but I think I'll look into getting some now! How hard is it to use? Does it twist or bunch up when using it on helical fletching? Can you see it under the feathers once the arrows are finished?
Mark Thornton

It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

pseman,
You can see the tape at the edges unless you cut it exact.  I leave mine about 1/16" long at the ends.  You won't notice it under the flethcing any more than you would glue.  It does fine with helical fletching.  That's all I shoot.

Bill it does just fine.  I shoot mine thru bales and styrofoam targets, never had it peel because of that. Just make sure you've put a drop of glue at each end of the fletching.
