3rivers hunters arrows

Just wanted to know if anyone else has had experience with 3rivers hunters arrows. I shot them for 3 day and already shot the spin out of them    :confused:   . On a 45# longbow with 45-50 spine.

What do you mean you shot the spin out of them?   I've not used they're complete arrows but have bought a few dozen of their "pre finished" shafts which is essentially the same as the hunter arrows and I have been very happy with them.  I had one or two per dozen that the weight was about 25gr. out from the others but that's not a big deal to me I just put flu-flu's on those ones.

When I first got them they shot fine and I was really happy with them. But the past few times I have shot them their flight has been horrible and I can barely keep them on the target. I haven't changed anything with the way I have been shooting and I checked to make sure the brace height had not changed. I was holding a fairly consistent 5" or 6" group and then the grouping just got bigger and bigger until now they just fly all over the place.

Not real sure what to tell ya.  You could be having an off day on your form or release or if it's as windy in Asheville as it is here in Winston-Salem then that may be playing a part in it.

It has been pretty windy here today and I did not even think to take that into account.

First I would check to see if they are straight and spin true. Within 3 days proper storage shouldn't be an issue. Usally the problems I have with groups opening up is a form, tired, or an equipment change.

Pretty sure it's you not the arrows, everyone has trouble from time to time more so if your new to trad.

Maybe Your draw got longer.. Add more point weight and see what happenes.

Wind can have a major factor on flight.  I have arrows that shoot like lazers but if its windy it can catch the feathers and kick them around.

Those arrows have nocks that fall off, and a finish that flakes off in the rain, but they are good, sound arrows for just starting-out in wooden arrows before learning to make your own. I never killed anything with mine, but my brother did, and they worked fine. They still fly good for me five years later.

I seriously doubt that either the static or dynamic spine of your arrows has been altered in any way without some kind of influence that has weakened the arrows in some way.  Conditions must change to get a different result; and I doubt it is your arrows that are doing something different.  Your form, draw length, release, and bow brace height are all more likely sources of your groups opening up.  The point is that either you are doing something different or something has changed about your equipement.

Sometimes if you shooting WITH the wind (i.e. with a stout wind to your back), then you essentially are shooting into a near-vacuum.  The fletches won't encounter nearly enough air resistance to impart proper spin on the arrows.  Perhaps that's the problem you're having.

Spin test them and see if they have any bends in them.

Any wood arrows I have ever bought in the last 30+ years, get out of kilter after some shooting. After all, they are only wood. Ipcjon2 is right, spin test them and see if they have bent a bit.
