Kool-Aid
« on: February 20, 2011, 03:14:00 AM »
I tried that Kool-Aid dying technique taught by "Magnus" awhile back on some wild turkey feathers I purchased from Custom Feathers.  AWESOME and simple.  I was blown away by the results!  THANK YOU to "Magnus"

Cane knife. Your very welcome. Just passing on what I've learned here from others. Glad it worked out for you. It's actually quite easy isn't it. Now let's see some pics of those fine feathers when you get the fletched.

How simple stuff we have around can be useful!Great
An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

Yep....Matt's got a lot of those "simple stuff" ideas....and they work very well.  Kudos to him for his gift of helping others.....and building great arrows.

If it was that easy to attain wood shafts Tim, everyone would do it     Sorry had to do it.

Bowspirit stained some shafts with RIT dye and they turned out really nice. Not sure about cool aid though.

Do you think it would work on gray hair?
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. TGMM ♥

I'm assuming you are using unsweetened. Are you just soaking them in kool-aid?
Having done so much, with so little, for so long, I can now do anything with nothing.

Do you see teenagers with bright red and blue hair. Often they use kool aid.  so if it works on theirs I would assume it would work on yours.

Footed shaft is the master at it. He's who guided me. Thanks Bill!

Swine stalker. Do a search on dying feathers. I posted complete instructions on how to do it. Probably two weeks ago.

I spilled a bit of Kool-aid on a Formica counter & didn't notice it till the next day. Scrubbed it with one of those scrubby things & plenty of soap. Still have the stain. Didn't lighten up or get dull. That's some bad stain!
God Bless
