Anyone have any Cascade bow Pics?
« on: February 20, 2011, 12:05:00 PM »
Hello Gang,
I have decided that I am going to have Steve build me a bow at Cascade, This will be my first custom bow. My only problem is that I haven't decided is what type of riser and limb combonation to get. Can I please see some pics of your cascade bows.  I am leaning towards either a cocobollo or bubinga risor and am totally up in the air with the limb core.
Does the wood in the limb core effect performance?  Any pics telling what you have would be awesome.
The model I plan on ordering is the 56" Whitetail Hawk.
Any ideas/opinions.
Thank you in advance
Aaron

Here are some shots of mine. I think it is bubinga and cocbolo but I am not sure. This is the 52" Golden Hawk. I like it alot. No finger pinch for me out to 29" and it is smooth and dead in the hand. I think you will like your bow, whichever way you go.

Jeff,
Thats a good looker, I think you're right about the woods. Looks like bubinga on the belly and cocobolo on the front.  Do you happen to know what kind of wood is in your limbs? Black locust maybe?

Here's a 52" takedown I used to have.  Loved the phenolic, good shooter too.

Jedi,
I really like those limb lams. on that bow. Are they the zebra wood ones? I think I have just found my wood lams.  :)

Yes sir, those are zebra and they were very easy to look at.  Not too bright or flashy for hunting and not too dull or gaudy for looking at.  I might add that the workmanship was fantastic which only added to the bows overall appeal.

Those Zebra limbs and phenolic riser look very nice! Would one of you mind, (RW?) putting a tape around the narrowest part of the grip and tell me what it is?  Predators are 5 0/8" and that's what I'm comparing to. I'm hoping these bows are smaller.

Cav;
I am not sure about the lams in my Cascade, but I think you might be right that it is black locust.

The Cascades sure are some nice looking bows. I'm very pleased with mine.

I'm expecting a new 52" Night Hawk this Friday.  I got it with two sets of limbs-- both with yew cores--one with clear glass both sides and one with black glass on back and clear glass on belly.  Can't wait!

I measured around the grip of my 52" Night Hawk and it measured 5" even but I did a little sanding on this one. I also measured my 56" and it came out at 5 1/8" no sanding don on this one.

I really like the zebra wood and also the yew. I think you will be happy with what ever wood you choose as Steve selects the most beautiful pieces.
