Purty bow pics!
« on: June 12, 2007, 01:45:00 AM »
Here are some pics of my new (to me) Kota Kill-um recurve. It's 48# @28" AMO 60". She's got a bacote riser and bird's eye maple limbs. These pics don't even come close to doing justice, but it was already dark when I took them, so I had to use flash.

The best news is she shoots as good as she looks.   :bigsmyl:    :archer:

Congrats, looking awesome!

I have a bow on order with birdseye maple veneers, I love the look of it, if you can post a bigger pic of the limbs?

Thanks,

F-Manny,

I'll try to get some in the sunlight today and post them later. The ones indoors just don't do justice to the bow.

Here are some closeups Manny.

Here's a plug for Lamont at The Footed Shaft. I picked up this awesome armguard along with the bow yesterday.

There ya go Manny. Hope you enjoy these half as much as I am enjoying this bow. This is a keeper!

Great looking bow.  Kota makes a nice bow.  Lamont is a great guy with a great shop.
Got to poke around The Footed Shaft and bring home a Kota, lucky man.

Lamont's got a nice 60" Mahaska recurve there too. It is marke 52# @ 28" but draws so smooth it seems much lower. What a difficult decision! The Mahaska was red elm with a beautiful multi wood riser. In the end I picked the Kota because the grip was a bit smaller and I have short fingers. I also liked the slender limb design of the Kota, but I have a Mahaska longbow, so I know Kent makes a quality bow too.

If any of you are looking for a great used bow, get in touch with Lamont at The Footed Shaft and ask about the Mahaska. Actually, he has tons of nice used bows, but these two really caught my eye. I can vouch for the Mahaska. I was tempted to buy both, but I already have more bows than I need and it is too nice a bow to just hang up and look at...it wants to be shot!

Beautiful Bow!! That Bird's Eye sure makes for some purty limbs. Congrats!

F-Manny,

You are welcome. That should make one beautiful longbow! Make sure we see some pics when you get it. I am a sucker for either bird's eye or quilted maple. For some strange reason, I never get tired of looking at bows, especially some of the amazing ones posted on this site.

The really cool part is it shoots as good as it looks. I can't believe how smooth the draw is. It actually feels lighter than my 45# Black Bear, but the arrow speed seems quite a bit higher. I am not a real speed freak, but this bow rivals my 55# longbow at a much lighter draw.

I'm throwing this thing back to the top. That is one sweet looking bow. I have a silver fox on order from cari-bow.

Manny,

Did you get yours yet?
