Joy's of a full stable
« on: February 20, 2011, 06:06:00 PM »
Well after many years of trying bows and trading and buying, my stable is full.

Charlie Lamb longbow
Big Jim Buffalow Bow
Super Shrew Gold
Blacktail VL
Tall Tines Recurve
Morrison Cheyene
Charlie Lamb Recurve

I shot my Charlie Lamb Longbow, Super Shrew Gold, and Tall Tines today. It was a very enjoyable afternoon. The Charlie Lamb longbow was a dream to shoot as are all of Charlies bows very quiet and dead in the hand. The Super Shrew Gold was the surprise of the day. I had been wanting one for a while, but was concerned the grip might be too small. I was wrong on that point. What a joy to shoot, and quiet and shoots where you look. The Tall Tines was also great. I had it made for me, all myrtle and horn tips. It was loud until I put Bow Hush and hush puppies on it and now is very quiet and also shoots where you look. I am very happy with all of them. I am done buying or trading. My stable is full.

Nice stable.  How do you pick which one to shoot on a given day?  Can you go back and forth between them or do you need a little "adjusting" time with each one?

No way, I'm not buying it.  I see an empty slot just below your Morrison.  :biglaugh:

Nothing worse than having an empty spot on the rack (I need to replace my Dye now...) congrats Donny!

Seriously guys i can not think of anything that would tempt me. The other open slots are for stringers, gloves, etc. No room for any more bows. I have a hard enough time choosing which one to shoot now. For me I just pick them up and shoot them. Never had a problem going back and forth from longbow to recurve. Do not know why that is, just never had to readjust. Thanks for all the comments. I love these bows.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I sort of had my first "Robin Hood" today with the Charlie Lamb Longbow. I knocked a knock off of one of my arrows with another arrrow. It hit and bounced back and the other arrow is now missing a knock. I hit right beside and scar arrows all the time, but this was the first time I acctualy hit a knock.

The only logical solution is to build another stable.

No room in the man-room so that won't work. As I said I am content for now. LOL Unless some new and improved bow shows up or a Brack longbow maybe.

You know, a couple ancilliary "steeds" for the stable REALLY wouldn't be that bad of an idea.  I could visualize a handsome Morrison ILF... a lovely Centaur... one of the new Stalker longbows...
