World class Minnesota sheds.
« on: February 21, 2011, 03:23:00 PM »
Found this photo of a set of sheds found in Excelsior Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis.  The story said they measured 89 5/8" and 91 3/8" for a B&C score of over 180 without spread points.  He is probably safe from hunters though, Excelsior is not a rural suburb.

Yep that is a dandy. A friend killed this typical that scored just shy of 196" not far from downtown Mpls-St.Paul.

Or this 185" 8-pointer that was killed by a poacher (poacher was caught!) about 40 minutes south of St. Paul:

I would recommend a 92 chevy pickup as weapon of choice.  That's probably what will get him.

Anyone know if this was a wild deer or a deer farm buck?

TJ, I'm pretty sure it is a wild deer, but in an urban area that is off limits to hunting.

First off, that's not me in the photo.  I just got it off another site.

This was definitely not a farm buck, there is video of him on YouTube, search for "Excelsior buck".  Nice to see him but like someone else said he really only has to worry about cars and trucks, I don't think there's any hunting in that part of town.

The 186" eight pointer that was poached...what a shame.  I don't remember the details, but the poacher didn't get much of a punishment.  I'm not sure of the record book rules but I think it would be/have been, a world record for an eight point buck.
