New retirement Northern Mist Shelton (pics)
« on: February 23, 2011, 04:43:00 PM »
Well, I sure had a surprise this past week end.  I had ordered a NM Shelton with green glass.  Two of my buddies knew I was interested in getting one so they called Steve and arranged to pay for the bow as a gift to me for my recent retirement from 45 years of pastoring churches.  Well, they presented it to me last Friday when we got together to stump shoot.  Here are some pictures.  The bow is 68", 49@28", bamboo lams under green glass, myrtle riser.  Sweet shooter.  Nobody ever had better buddies than these two--Thanks Will and Don!    :goldtooth:

Congradulations on 45 years of spreading the word of God! Please let us know how the Shelton shoots and if it hits where you aim, and how quiet it is? I have heard nothing but good reports on it. Beautiful photos! Ken

Those are indeed some pretty wonderful friends...what a great bow. I would like to thank you for your years of serving Christ and His Kingdom. I am a pastor also and a lefty to boot! If you get out toward Missouri let me know and we could shoot or hunt something.
Enjoy your retirement and fling lots of arrows through that beautiful bow. God Bless

How cool is this? Way!!! I'm saying....

That's a very rare gift... to have two shooting buddies that think that highly of your friendship.

I love the Sheldon also.

Thank you for sharing.

Ken, the Shelton is a very pleasant bow to shoot.  Very quiet and indeed does shoot where I aim.  My problem is that sometimes (lots of times) I am not aiming where I intend to be aiming when I turn her loose!  But that sure isn't the fault of the bow.  I really do think the Shelton is one of the finest longbows made.

I also want to mention, Ken, that I sure do enjoy that Tembo I got from you last year.  Even though it is 40 years old it shoots right there with the current crop.

Congradulations Pastor, after putting up with church people for 45yrs. you certainly deserve it,lol. In all seriousness though thank you for your dedication to our great God. I'm sure he's not finished with you though. Enjoy that great bow,and good huntin. Although your'e probably more inclined to be a fisherman!  :clapper:
